"Operated by Dr. Kenneth McKenzie from 1732 - 1755, the Apothecary

was also home to Dr. Kenneth's wife Joanna,

daughter Nancy and son William. McKenzie Apothecary was cruicial

to diagnosing illiness, preparing medicines, performing minor surgeries

and tooth extractions. Herbal medicines and remedies were also sold.

The early architecture featured two rooms. One on the main floor

and one in the half story above. This was the simpliest form

of 18th century architecture."
