Drying Corn Husks for a Garland or Wreath?

Here's How...

1. Peel the husks from fresh corn and remove all of the silk.

2. If needed, give the husks a quick rinse in cool water and pat them dry.

3. Lay them one layer deep upon a screen, rack or clean cloth where warm, dry air can pass around them. (Keep them away from the birds! The first time I tried this, the birds had a party...)

4. Turn the husks once each day so they dry evenly on both sides.

5. Leave them to dry for 3-7 days, until they are completely dry, crisp, and papery with no dampness remaining. Curling and Wrinkling is Perfect!

6. Once well dried, gather small bundles of husks and tie them onto jute, twine or old cotton string. Add dried corn, dried oranges, seed pods, walnuts or other harvest goodes.

7. Your dried husks can be made into a wreath or fill an olde crock with them, tucked in with pumpkins and gourds!
